Audio Demo-- Let your young ones listen and see if they can imagine the story in their heads without the aid of the television visual aid.
Jack in the Beanstalk was recorded circa 1947 on bakelite material which is very brittle and cracks easily unlike the later records that were recorded on vinyl somewhere in the early 1950's. Notice the original as it snaps and crackles. It also had a big crack going through the record.
The repaired recording is the entire 3 record album. This is what the kids in the late 40s and early 50's had for their entertainment other than radio and early television that didn't come on until around 3:00 in the afternoon and went off depending on programming around 12:00 midnight. Then we had to make the pictures up in our heads as the story progressed and they were all ours. Good therapy for the imagination.
